My First Pond/fountain

As people have been so complimentary about my upcycled spa fishpond (here http://www.hometalk.com/diy/outdoor/pools-ponds/upcycling-old-spa-into-a-fishpond-fountain-11843971 ) I thought I would take the opportunity to share the first one I built a few years ago.
Now this one was made from a 750 litre stock trough and bricks I had left over from the house build, The fountain is a commercial item (it was delivered with a load of pavers mistakenly and despite me contacting them they never came back for it, so after 3 years I decided to use it!!)

I laid a concrete pad with the necessary electrics under it and sited the stock trough.

The electrical wire is all conduited through a plastic hose to protect it.
I installed the fountain plinth with a hose on a paver inside the trough, and laid the bricks, now I'm not a professional brick layer and every brick had to be tapered to get acceptable gaps,Lots of angle grinding! The same day I also had 4 truckloads of gravel for the drive arrive (16 cubic meters!) and I laid that too! I did have a friend assist with lifting it in -- that'll teach him to come visiting!!
First 3 courses of bricks done
Before I started I had laid the trough out on the concrete driveway pad and drew round it and cut all the bricks for the top (when the gravel arrived I just put it round it)
Laid the top layer on and mortared into place (that ugly, sweaty person is me!)
Finally mortared the Koru on the side and wired everything up (surprisingly it worked and I didn't electrocute myself)
And there it is with the pump running and the lights on!, have added fish and landscaped around it since these were taken
