Vintage Tennis Racket Oversized Cross Stitch

2 Materials
Easy
Oversized cross stitch is all the rage...so, I repurposed some vintage wooden tennis rackets into fun, quirky holiday decor.

I don't know about you, but I see vintage tennis rackets at thrift stores all the time...for a dollar or two a piece.
So I decided to see how they'd work for a cross stitch project! They're already "framed", but I decided to lop off the handles before I got started.
I decided to spray paint some of the frames (others I left au natural) and then I began to cross stitch using chunky, thick yarn.
And there they are! Vintage tennis rackets work perfectly and they're already-framed.

Aren't they adorable? They work just perfect, and cross stitch on this scale is super easy and fast- anyone can do it, I promise.

Sadie: I live just up the road in Spartanburg! I was wondering, what thrift shops do you find these great items? Ours are so-so, with the exception of a new one that just opened, "The Brown Roof". The others are somewhat yucky and fairly expensive...for a thrift store... Thanks for the info. Love, love, love your creations!

Very cute idea! It would be a fun gift for a tennis lover too! Leave the handle & cross stitch their initial. Could be a set, or part of a gallery wall. Love it!
