A Merry Red Country Cupboard
This simple brown country cupboard was given a happy new look with some red paint, a few planks and some fresh hardware. On the blog today: http://countrydesignhome.com/2015/12/26/re-loved-red-country-cupboard/
The before: dark brown, deeply scratched and very sad piece rescued from Craigslist for next to nothing.
Painted with Annie Sloan Emperor's Silk Chalk Paint- one of the prettiest reds I have seen. Finished with a coat of Varathane Matte Finish Polyurethane. A soft touch and a light sheen creates the perfect finish for any country piece.
The back walls of this piece were dark brown plywood veneers. Not very pretty (or all that sturdy!)

The completed project...once a sad, dark brown eyesore is now a happy, country red piece, ready for the holidays!
