How I Use Vintage Luggage as Alternative Storage: #DECLUTTER

It's that time again--as a new year approaches we long for less clutter and more organized space! Storage doesn't have to be limited to big plastic bins. Come see how I've turned my love for vintage luggage into decorative storage throughout my home!
I am a big believer in downsizing and periodically. I sort, donate, resale and toss. However, since I do not have a garage or basement, and I have two Etsy shops, I have had to get creative with storage and Vintage luggage has been a great alternative. Would you believe I picked up this fabulous Samsonsite set for $4 at a yard sale? I adore the color and each was in excellent condition, inside and out. Before bringing a new piece home, I always check linings carefully. Then they go from the car to my front porch where they receive a generous spraying of tea tree oil and are left to dry in the sun. This set is displayed in my dining room. The large one is perfect for storing all of my vintage Christmas ornaments. Luggage is also handy for storing fragile or bulky items out of sight!
My assortment houses most of my Etsy inventory as well as seasonal decor. I find it helpful to keep a running list on my computer reminding me where I have stored what, which keeps me from hunting and allows me to easily locate what I need.
The ivory set was another yard sale find and the navy one was .25 at a local thrift store! These sit on a luggage rack at the end of my hallway. It creates a charming yet functional display. I love to imagine where they may have traveled before arriving to my home sweet home!
I can't take credit for making this cute little table but I did purchase it 75% off at my local thrift store! Someone had added table legs to this 40s Samsonite--I just gave them a driftwood finish. I use it as an end table and of course, more storage!
