Wait! Don't Throw That Tissue Paper Away!!

Hometalkers are the best when it comes to frugal decorating! Here's a reminder of an old favorite just in time to re-purpose all that holiday gift packaging!! So grab the tissue paper from the gift bags and the twist ties from those toy packages and let's turn our Christmas trash into a Valentine's bouquet!
Cut your tissue paper into three to four inch strips.
Cut each strip into sqaures as wide as you cut the strip. You'll get four to six squares, depending how big you make them.
Stack up your squares, then fold the whole stack together like an accordion.
Trim the ends to a point, or even rounded, and cut from either side at the center but don't cut all the way through!! Just make notches on both sides!
Now wrap a wire or whatever you can find (I used a bread tie on this one) around the center, kind of wiggling it into those notches.
Start pulling your tissue paper toward the center, one layer at a time. Just fiddle with it as you go until you're happy, then do the other side!
Admire your new flower!
Hope this was a reminder to someone...hope someone else learned something new!! Have fun decorating with your trash!

So after you've made your flowers you can use "Easter grass" for the greens. Wrap the "grass" around pipe cleaners and you've got stems for your flowers.
