Gallery Wall: From Salvage Yard to Modern Photo Display

Discovered at the local salvage yard, this dirty railing made a temporary home in our garage until we figured out that it would look pretty cool as a unique photo gallery wall. ‪#‎FixerUpperStyle
After a good wipe down, I used a dry paint brush to turn the railing's existing purple paint to a teal to match our decor. To keep it looking vintage and rough, I painted sporadically, adding minimal teal paint throughout.
Next, I added carpentry nails to those spindles where I wanted to hang a photo frame. Best to have your frames there and come up with a layout that looks best to you.
Now the best part: hang it on your wall! Given the heavy duty nature of the railing coupled with wanting to keep with the unconventional look of the piece, we used bolts.
Add your frames and stand back and admire!

Hi! We have textured drywall and we drilled into the studs. Have you gone to your local Ace Hardware and inquired if heavy duty anchors would work with your walls? Good luck!
