Ice Skate Winter Centerpiece

Using old ice skates, create this fun, simple centerpiece for your wintertime décor.
Materials, wood base, ice skates, glue, glitter, 2 recycled glasses, craft decorations, spray adhesive, old grocery bag.
First mark the base where you would like the skates to sit. You can either cut into the wood as shown, or if you don't have access, use brackets and mount them to the top of the board.
I cut the slots to allow the skates to come off the base for more interest.
Next remove the laces and add your own decorative ones. I used this silver ribbon with wire to give me flexibility with the final product.
Glue the skates to the base using superglue.
Next, start layering the skates and base with glitter of your choice. I used a couple different sized iridescent glitter for interest. Use a spray adhesive allowing it to dry between coats. You can go as light or as heavy as you wish. For a more snowy affect use the faux snow.
I cut the sides from an old grocery bag to create a mini spray booth. Be sure to spray in a well ventilated area. Adhesive spray can over spray onto other surfaces. I recommend doing this step outside.
Next add a boa, I found a white with silver boa at a local craft store. As I want to use fresh florals in my centerpiece, I inserted two recycled juice glasses into the skates. If using silk floral, insert foam to hold your arrangement.
Next, add your own decorative touches. Using hot glue gun to adhere to your base.
Finally, add your florals! Enjoy!

@Beth Miles Actually I did similar designs for just that for a client. It was stunning. Didn't use the wood base, had an acrylic base which had blue lighting inside had an amazing ice look to it.
