Bathroom update???

I need to update a long and very narrow bathroom and keep the tub. Right now it has everything but the toilet in baby pink - ugh. I am willing to lose the linen closet and just have cabinet space, but all the pink, including the tiles on walls and floor must go. Any suggestions?

small budget projects have these "odd" colors getting painted over...bigger budget projects have these relic colors ripped out and new tile / fixtures installed in their place. I'm more of a long term and "bomb proof" type of builder so I would replace it all.

Thanks for your input, too bad that you are in Colorado, or I might ask if you "hire out". I suspect that replacing all with white is the way to go. White might make it look larger, though I will replace the cabinets with wood, jut stained and polyurethanes. I love natural wood. We had one bathroom made handicap, so I need to have a tub in this one. :-)

If you are looking to hire out, you might want to try @AK Complete Home Renovations which I think works in your area - one budget option is using beadboard panels like the picture below (sorry for the logo - only shot I have left) & yes the tiles have to go to

@Rose S I do hire out ...as I have had my remodeling business up and running now for a bit over 10 years. The custom furniture side is over 30 years in the works. I'm currently doing a full remodel on a condo in Denver in which 850 feet of floor tile is being installed, tub tile, and new cabinets through out. I'll post pics when we get closer to completion.

Rose......if you want a 2nd estimate, let me know. I know of a great under the radar contractor who just finished a bathroom remodel for a neighbor. He is very reasonable and and does great work. Gary

@Rose S if you are going to do the bathroom, I suggest you go as far as you can. Get a few estimates, we were lucky enough to get a reliable contractor who had good suggestions. His first estimate was well above what we wanted to spend but when we told him that he sat down with us so we could work together on what was possible. I couldn't be happier with the result - neutral, but not white, tile on floors and in glass shower stall, not to mention moving the sink to a more reasonable postion. So if the plan is what you are looking for, work with the contractor for what is affordable.. Post your before and after pics. Thanks for posting :)

thanks Gail, that is good advice. I will o as far as my wallet will eat me. What neutral color did you use? I thought that white would go with everything, especially since the low flow toilet is white. I need to have a tub, since the other bath is already handicap shower only. So if I ever sell the house, the new owner will want a tub in one of he baths.

There are so many neutral, not white, options that can make a bath look very upscale without running up the price tag to high! We'll have some ideas ready for Rose.
