DIY Pullout Baking Sheet

After remodeling our kitchen cabinets, we decided it was time to organize the cabinets. And one solution we came up with was a pullout drawer for our baking sheets. Do you want to see how we did it? Let me show you...
The first step is gathering the supplies:

- 1/2 cabinet grade plywood (2'x4) (can use 3/4 but buy 1.25 screws)

- 1 screws

- 1/4 MDF or plywood (2'x4)

- 21 drawer slides

Then I cut the plywood & MDF:

1- 13 1/4x6 (front)

2- 22 1/2x10 (sides)

1- 22x12 1/4 (bottom)

1- 12 1/4x10 (back)

2- 22 1/4x9 1/2 (1/4 MDF dividers)

After I created dado's in the wood for the dividers. I created a dado 4 in on both sides of the bottom & back pieces (will look like this= 4 then 1/4 dado then 3.75 then 1/4 dado then 4). The front piece is 1 bigger than the back & bottom pieces, so create the dado 4.5 in on both sides of the front piece (will look like this= 4.5 then 1/4 dado then 3.75 then 1/4 dado then 4.5). I then made sure all the boards lined up perfectly.
Then I created angles in the wood with a Skil saw (this is how you would like it to look).
I then created pockets to be able to assemble the drawer. For the side pieces, I placed 2 pockets at the front of the drawer to connect the drawer front to the side pieces. For the back of the drawer, I placed 6 pockets and for the bottom of the drawer, I placed 14 pockets (link below has pictures).

Finally I sanded all the wood with my orbital sander using grit sandpaper, until the wood was smooth.

Next I assembled the drawer together using the Kreg Jig pockets. To do this, I placed the drawer front piece on a flat hard surface then I attached the sides to the drawer. Then I attached the bottom of the drawer to the drawer front the same way, making sure the spacing was correct. But before attaching one side piece to the bottom piece, I placed the back piece in place to make sure it would fit, then I attached the side piece. Next was attaching the back piece the same way.
Then I added the drawer slides to the base. Note to anyone doing this, I do feel that the drawer slides would work better if added to the side of the box because when the drawer is pulled out it slats down slightly.
And now the drawer is complete! If you want to see more details visit TwoFeetFirst.
