Coffee Table Makeover - Goodbye 80's

When I decided to make some changes to our living room, I asked readers their thoughts, and many suggested I get a larger, square coffee table.
I was sad to move out the coffee table we had made, but agreed that it wasn't the right shape or size. I knew I didn't have enough time to make one again, so I searched Craigslist for the perfect table, and I found it for only $20!
The problem was, the peach-color gloss and white washing on this table is straight out of the 80's! The table also had dog bite marks on it, but I knew that would be easy to sand off.
I decided to go for it because this coffee table is well built, solid wood (it's really heavy), and a quality brand that I know will last a long time. For $20, it's worth the elbow grease!
I'm so glad I went for it, because with a little sanding and stain, I think it makes the perfect centerpiece in our living room!
I love how we can take a piece of furniture that might be considered a "throwaway" and breathe new life into it again.
Do you have a piece of furniture in mind for this simple transformation? More details, including stain color, can be found over on my blog!
