Entry Way storage & art

I don't really have a distinct entry way. My front door opens right into my dining room. There was a wall though & to create more of an entry way feel I came up with this "scene" of furniture & art. The entry table was formerly a dresser. I removed the drawers & converted it to open shelving. The space turned out to be the perfect size to house my 12x12 scrapbooks. Finding a good place to display the books I've worked so hard on has been a challenge for years! I like that they're here in the center of the house, ready to grab & look at at the dining room table. The art is just a big old frame & I used chalkboard paint on the backer-board that came with the frame. I can erase it & change the "art" seasonally or can write messages.

@Sissy J great job, looks warm and fresh. I love how you repurposed the dresser and refinished it. Looks like it was made for that area. Did you also do the artwork, it accessorizes the area nicely and sconces look lovely. Thanks for posting :)

Thanks Gail! I appreciate the kind comments. I did do the artwork. All the art in my house is a mish mosh of things I've crafted/put together or things that other local artists have done. I love the warmth & character of things that have been made with someone's own two hands.
