Design & Décor Hallways & Entryways

Yesterday I posted the historic kitchen that won the local NARI 2012 CotY contractor of the year award.

These are a few of the photos that won us the local 2011 Contractor of the Year award for a remodel in the front entry of the same house..

This remodel is in the same house as our 2012 CotY winner. In this remodel we removed most of the existing sub-standard roof, then we rebuilt everything under our new roof.

These are some of the BEFORE PHOTOS.

For more info and photos visit http://www.homeworkremodels.net/award-winnin...

    • The before roof and ceiling was made out of corrugated fiberglass paneling. It did a poor job of keeping the elements out and was contributing to the deterioration of everything inside.
    • Before
    • The before room had nice windows that were suffering from being semi-outdoors due to the before roof.
    • The Before steps were unsightly as well as dangerous.
    • Previous to our remodel the room was divided by this soffit. the soffit hid duct-work for a malfunctioning evaporative cooler. We replaced the cooler with a mini-split ductless air conditioner / heater.

These are very bold spaces, I love the use of color and influence of local style and design.

No wonder your work is winning prizes. This is stunning--looks like something from a magazine. I never would've been brave enough to try such a bold color but it works SO well. Gorgeous!

This looks awesome. Blue is my favourite colour. Although the colour is bold the room seems more tranquil to me than the previous colour with made the room seem too sterile.

Love the transformation that the new color gives the room! It's more inviting and not so sterile. It gives it warmth, depth, and an overall good feeling. It also compliments the wood and makes it pop.

Love the curves and the way they relate to the arch over the doors. The tiles on the riser is a great touch. . . not only for design aesthetics but also for safety. I love seeing projects from Arizona. They certainly know how to celebrate color.

I would like to thank everyone for their kind and complementary comments.

As far as seeing the rest of the house I will need to record a new video tour. I did post a short video of both rooms on hometalk and I do have photos of a bathroom we remodeled earlier that I can post next.

The home has a large master bathroom that we will be our next remodeling project for this ...»

home. I'm sure it will be another unique remodeling project.

It is a very unique home. If you are in Phoenix on February 13th it will be on the Willo Historic Home Tour.

That is one of the most beautiful and inviting spaces I have ever seen. It's refreshing to see color being used like that, especially those colors and finishes. I don't think I would get tired of looking at it. Nice work.

Love it! The curve of the steps is so inviting and I love the embossed look of the floor tiles.

These are a few photos of the bathroom we remodeled in the same home. For more info and photos... http://www.homeworkremodels.net/bathroom-rem...
    • We reused the original vanity after remodeling the entire room.
    • The original shower was as closed in as this one is open.
    • This dressing table was cut down to this smaller size in order to enlarge the shower.
    • Shower bench feature
    • We were able to create this curb-less shower floor feature by rebuilding the original sub-floor framing.
    • New vanity light feature.

I love that you seek to use what you can of what was there in these remodels rather than a "gut and go" approach. I must say that the palette of that bathroom is quite subdued compared to the rest of the house!
