I can only speak for my Chalk paint "Shabby Paints" but the biggest reason we choose it is for ...»
the ease. No sanding no priming. It is thicker with very forgiving texture. Self leveling while filling in imperfections. Mine is Zero VOC, Non Toxic, and the only one made in the USA. The pigments adhere even better than household paints because of the unique resin (animal friendly of course) It is very forgiving, easy to use, easy to clean up, then distressing brings on a whole new dimension. Sand the edges for an easy vintage look while still looking new. Like the best of both worlds. Also very cost effective. Shabby Chalk Paint covers a lot more furniture than your typical house paint mixes. So when you see the price for $29.99 remember it goes a lot further than your typical quart of paint. :)

Vintage white dining room

It's finally done and I love it. My husband and I have been working on our dining room for about 4 months and paint went on the last chair to call it done.

Come on by to see the rest of the photos

DIY industrial pipe lamp.

Instead of paying the high-dollar amount that the fancy store was getting for their fabulous industrial pipe lamp I figured out how to DIY my own. ...»

Using various textures, sizes, and materials I created my own version of their pipe lamp.

Miss Mustard Seed boxwood stool

I have been dying to try out the milk paint line from Miss Mustard Seed and chose boxwood as my first test dummy. I redid a stool in our living room and love how it turned out.

DIY Botanical art

With spring still resisting us here in Ontario, my "green" thumb is itching for action.

I decided to create some botanical art for our home.

My $50 Thrift Store Dresser Makeover

I found this old, beaten up, wood-tone dresser at a local thrift store for only $50! I could immediately see the potential in it, so I brought it home and gave it a makeover! I used satin ...»
ivory paint on the outside with a wax topcoat. To get rid of the old, musty smell, I even painted the insides of each drawer a soft green called 'Ocean Pearl'. Then, I added a lovely mirror I found at a local salvage store to really take it up a notch! As time went on, I changed our master bedroom's decor a bit and changed the accessories near the dresser to silver, so I spray painted the handles black. I've loved both looks, and love that this dresser is so versatile! It's truly become one of my favorite pieces!
