Mixing different wood species to create a unique hardwood floor can be quite beautiful.

Beautiful work. Most clients don't realize that it's not just the number of coats but the quality of the poly that counts. For some reason, that 3rd coat of good poly gives the floor an almost exponential wear layer. I've never been able to explain that but always recommend 3 coats of poly for floors. -
gorgeous! -
Ringelberg, I couldn't agree with you more. When I am asked to paint a design on a floor, I need to make sure that it is "sandwiched" by the layers of poly. If the design is created by different color of stains, I start with the raw wood. Getting the right number of poly coats afterwards is soooo important. -
Well put ... this is a work of art. Gorgeous! -
Very nice detail -
Three is min in my book...one concern with "patterns" like that is your sanding needs to be carefully done as you have multiple directions of wood grain to deal with...that in itself is some extra work. -

Wow, a work of art it certainly is. That is pretty sweet there Ringelberg! -
What sparkle! If I were the homeowner in this house, I would ensure it never saw a single area rug or carpet anywhere. This is amazing work. -
Impressive! i'd surely want to show it off. Maybe leave the room empty, to be enjoyed. -
