How to Create an Urban Jungle on Concrete Back Yard Space 12 X 12.

This is just one of hundreds of urban spaces I create in the city of Brotherly love. Present me with a challenge and I will always come up with a way to overcome any disadvantage or flaw by simply using plants. I do NOT do Hrad landscaping but as many who follow me know I have moved out of the city to work. And now devote all my time and skills at WORK TO RIDE as the volunteer landscaper. Hope you all enjoy this little project, blast from my past.
The Basics to start off with. I also recommend root hormone and transplant solution. Not shown here. However; organic gardening is my passion I use egg shells coffee grinds and banana as staples in all my gardening efforts. My motto is if" Nature does not waste anything why should we"?
Great Dirt compost preferred clean containers that all require holes at bottom for proper drainage and to make the ease of movement of your containers do what I do and fill the container regardless of size with as much styrofoam at bottom as filler makes for much lighter weight.
I like to add a mixture of bulbs annuals along with great perennials to be relocated later in the season.
This is merely an example of how one day you can create one look the next a completely different look but with all the same completed containers.
Within this Urban Juggle one can even have a fully grown and harvest of as many herbs as you desire. There are just no limits to being creative.
Same Herb garden as above, however; different angle to show how using mirrors in an outdoor space can enhance the size as well as the sunlight, two for one!
Back corner dead space great for cluster of containers. As you can see going up is "always a great option."
I always make sure the garden scapes I create keep the owners usage of the space is not overrun with plants there things like grills table chairs etc we all need to entertain.
Same 12x 12 space see how mirror reflects the sunlight onto herbs. This view shows the walkway back entrance to patio garden. Again I stress the need to keep it functional if the walkway is to narrow makes it uncomfortable for the homeowners.
Another view of 12 x 12 urban jungle that even accommodates a very large dog and his owners well.
This is the view of same Urban Jungle, however; this is from west angle showing the house for which this garden was created. If Budget permitted I would have added window boxes up under owners windows to complete the look.
See how it all comes together for use for any reason for any number of friends to entertain or to just enjoy morning coffee in a great smelling space that is all yours and yours alone.
Again another reason for the emphasis for going up, up and away with your plants.

@Francesca GOD BLESS you for making my month. You or rather anyone never knows how the smallest of things can save someone else's sanity. I have had the same space for decades and it has never once looked the same year after year I strive to create different atmospheres. Thank you again so very much.
