Vintage Electric Heater Lamp ~

I had made an accent light using an old kerosene burner and string lights for my deck and really wanted to make one to use inside that was a more permanent type light ~ I found this old Rome Electric Auxiliary Heater at a flea market a couple years ago so...time to get to work!
I checked my stash to see what I could come up with...an old utility light, a screen tube and a rubber gasket...that will work!
I removed the old electric heating element and replaced it with the socket/cord from the utility light held in place with a rubber gasket, added a bulb and a screen tube (light diffuser)
Love, love, love it! I especially love how the light dances around the room at night!

Where do you get that screen? I have a heater in our garage waiting for me to do this, but I don't know about the screen and want to do it like yours...just love it. That light effect is so awesome. Very creative !

Hi! I liked your idea and found one on ebay. Could you tell me where I can find the screen tube you used? Is it metal or plastic? I've looked in Home Depot and Lowe's. Thanks!

I don't understand the purpose of the screen tube?
