When this piece was found on the side of the road I had a few great ideas.
The cubbies went through 3 transformations before I settled on the one I liked best.

This is what I found and after staining with a vinegar/steel wool stain, then adding a fabric backing I thought I had the look I was after.
Rusty hinges and hooks are used not only for bling but adds stability to the piece.
Finally when I needed more storage the second version came down and chalkboard was added to the back of the cubbies. This look is my favorite and can be used free standing or hanging on the wall. Customize each cubbie with numbers, letters, or
