Garden Water Feature Under $30!
Designing a DIY water feature can be a challenge if you are on a tight budget. It can be even more of a challenge if you are looking for a contemporary water feature to fit in with an updated garden space. Decide where to place your water feature. If you don't have power nearby, consider a solar powered fountain pump. Trace the shape of the container onto the dirt, then use a shovel to remove enough dirt to sink the container level with the ground.
Add large rocks to the bottom of the water feature, then use the rocks to anchor your pump in place.
Lay the pavers along the edge of the water feature to cover the container edge, and to help hide the power cord. Fill with water, plug in the pump and adjust the spray until it makes the sound and effect you are looking for.

I had a dead tree in my yard that I had to cut down and the way I cut it down and the way it fell made a perfect bench with the log. I have lots of ideas about how I want the space to look when I finally get to start with it, and I think one of the ways I’m gonna do it is the water feature, but I also want to plant some more small trees around it. and morning glories that would grow over an arch up to it. I also want to make a mosaic stone path from my front porch to the tree. Not sure how I’ll be able to do it but I’m darn sure gonna try.

I have a small rectangular container to measure and sink into the ground. Love your idea and have already purchased a solar fountain. The wonderful part about your idea is that if one ever tires of the fountain idea, the container can have holes drilled in it and then use it for vegetables or flowers.

Where did you get your container?
In Colorado the water would evaporate by the end of the day. How do you avoid that?
I have a 2 tier fake rock fountain and have tried everything to keep algae out of it like apple cider vinegar, to no avail. I am in Az with over 100-degree weather and I have it so birds can drink from it and hopefully can keep pugs from drinking from it but dont want them hurt if they do. What do you use to keep algae out?
