I Upcycled This Rug
I have been having a battle with my old kitchen rug for a while now. First, I tried to paint it, and that didn't work. Then I decided to cover it in fabric and then apply polyurethane. That worked perfectly. See the process here: http://the2seasons.com/2013/04/23/my-rugs-metamorphosis/
After the indoor/outdoor rug in front of our kitchen sink could no longer be cleaned, I tried to paint it. That was a total failure.
Instead, I glued on fabric and coated it with polyurethane. Now it looks like this, and all spills wipe right up.
