I just silvered this Martinelli's glass apple juice bottle.

Step 1: spray glass with glass primer. Step 2: With even strokes from about 5-10 inches away spray in silver paint - (or whatever color you like!). Step 3: Repeat step 2 twice. A grouping of black, white, silver and dark gray bottle and jars would look pretty too. Display grouping on a tray.

Thanks for posting and giving us the how-to-do. Love it and going to give it a try. Is the glass primer just a spray on that you can pick up at Lowes etc?

Very nice. Almost looks like a Chrstmas ornament. You could really have fun with these around the holidays.

hey all. wow - didnt think my little bottle would attract so much interest! lol! the primer and paint are both sprays i picked up at Ace Hardware, but im pretty sure its in Lowes and Home Depot too. The primer i used was Zinsser Bulls Eye 123 primer for all surfaces. The silver paint was Ace Metallic Spray Paint (the cap indicates the color). I've also used these products to spray pine cones and the like at the holiday season too.

Last year, the county dug up the gravel road by our side yard to rebuild a culvert that was eroding it. They were going to haul away the dirt and I talked them into dumping it for my own use in grading the small road I excavated to get to my barn.

Serendipity happened! In amongst the gravel, sand and fill dirt were a few dozen old bottles, small and large. As I "discovered" each, I tossed them under my huge mimosa tree and they're still ...»

    piled there.

Now I know what I can do with a few of the novelty looking ones!
