2 Sister's Salon

Medium
We had this very tiny "attic" space that had nothing but a little drywall in it when we moved in. We ignored it for months until we got settled. Then I got to thinking...
At first I thought "play room", but that sounded so general, and boring. I wanted something unique for our girls who were tweens at the time. They both love wigs and have started quite a collection. That's what made me decide on a "salon" theme.

After we hired a friend to finish the drywall, my Dad painted it for us, and then we hired a ceramic tile co. to put the diagonal black & white checkered floor in. It wasn't cheap, but totally worth it.

It grew from there and I added all of their makeup, lots of mirrors, a cool make-up chair, and 2 cozy seats to hang out in.
I created a little area with an old desk where they could do nails just like they do in a real salon complete with a nail dryer (to view more photos visit my blog at the bottom of this post).

You never know what will inspire your children to CREATE! I am fascinated with how much time they spend in here making costumes for their Cosplay events, and even Halloween. Our 16 year old is an entrepreneur and I owe it all to "2 Sister's Salon"!
