My son is quite the artist, as in I could probably wallpaper an entire room just with his favorite artworks. We consistently go through them and sort some into save vs trash but there are still so many left over. Of course, I want him to feel pride in his art (while saving our poor fridge from looking like a mummy). When I shared all of the ideas I had saved as inspiration for my craft room/home office, I thought that an art gallery wall was the perfect solution.
I started by staining 3 poplar boards that were four feet long. I used a soaked, waded-up t-shirt and this worked well without any brush marks. After that, each board got 3 thin coats of satin polyurethane.
At last, it was just a matter of hanging them and since artwork can vary wildly in size, I mostly use two (or more if really large) clips to hang each piece of art.
I love how it finished out his desk area. Now he has his own personal art/ work area. I thought about putting something like this in his room but it definitely feels like it belongs here. This is part of my CRAFT ROOM REVEAL which is linked below so check out what is in the rest of the room.

@Handmade with Ashley Thank you! My son adores his area. It also keeps his mess (mostly) contained, which I love.

such a great idea and so simple! I will need to make this for the grand kids art - the kitchen area is so full, I can't find room for more! I think this will be great at the end of the hall for me but I know I will have to do some for Kristina too!

@TwoCrochet Hooks I totally understand the problem with keeping it in the kitchen area. I like your idea of putting it in the hall so that they are still well displayed.
