Breakfast Nook and Coffee Bar Before and After

When we moved into our home 3 years ago our kitchen was very boring. There was BIG, heavy faux built-in shelving above a built-in buffet in our breakfast nook area that made the ceiling seem so low and the room feel vet claustrophobic.

We started off the renovation by replacing the ceiling fan with a pendant light.

The space allowed for a small table but it was quite awkward for chairs to fit around the table in the breakfast nook area.

We took down the heavy faux built-in shelving, tiled the entire wall, exposed the brick chiney chase and applied a white wash to tone down the red brick.

We switched out the cheap-o laminate counter tops for dark stained butcher block. Faux painted the cabinets of the breakfast bar/coffee bar and instated aged brass hardware.

I love the light fixture! Can you share where you purchased it?

So you built a bench to sit on at the table. Is the project with the new butcher block & new brass handles across the room from the 2 windows because it's not pictured in the finished photo you took of the room?

Love it all. What did you use to change the right small wall that makes it look like used, weathered brick or stone
