I really want to remodel our only full bath, but don't have the money at this time so we are considering reglazing our

bathroom tub and tile white. I was thinking about doing the floor tile a gray as well, but wasn't sure how it would hold up. I don't think we're up for doing it ourselves with a 1 1/2 year old in the house, I've heard the fumes are pretty strong. Are there any vendors in the St. Louis, MO area that do this?

I had my entire bathroom, including floors, done 16 years ago. It still looked good when I sold the house; in fact, the bathroom was one of the selling points!

Here are some tile guys in your area:

Seems like most of them would be willing to do this type of project. Just check their references, etc., as always.

Our 1965 home has the exact same tile floor and walls! Would love to see the rest of your home as I bet we have lots of similarities. We are in the same boat...but contemplating taking the tile off the walls and redoing the floor. Our tub is white, which I would leave in tact. Looking forward to seeing your "after" so we can decide which route to take!

I'm not big on reglazing...haven't seen a process yet that has held up long term. If you do it, just be very cautious with cleaning products. We redid several hundred tubs & tile surrounds over the years on our flips to save money. We used different vendors and the reglazing seemed to hold up for a year or two with all of them. Just a word of caution. As HandyANDY, we've often gone back to work on houses we renovated & sold to do small repairs....and most times I noticed that reglazing wasn't holding up well.

Your best bet is to call one of these re-bath companies that install a fiberglass insert in your tub and they also do the walls. I would live with the floor tile if you don't have the money for a new floor.

Emily, I realize this is a really old post. However, if you are still considering the reglazing I can send you a recommendation for the St. Louis area if you message me.
