What Do You Do When That One Item That You Want Costs Too Much?

A big part of my completing the look that I wanted for my recent gallery wall makeover, was a rustic ladder that I spotted in the Pottery Barn catalog. BUT, there is no way that I was going to pay $250 for it. Especially, when I knew that it was something that I could make myself. I made the ladder in one afternoon and it cost me less than $20! It's a super easy and fun project.
This rustic ladder is the perfect addition to my gallery wall. If I tire of it here, I can move it anywhere around the house!
I can switch out what I display on the ladder for any season or holiday.
Soft, comfy throws and some chunky diy yarn tassels cozy the ladder up for the winter.
All it takes are a few pieces of wood, any type of black paint, some wood toned stain and gray stain.
Strategic dry-brush painting and staining makes the ladder look like one that has been sitting in someone's barn for years.
First layer of paint is the "gunk" look.
