Japanese Red Maple

How difficult is it to grow Japanese Red Maple trees from Seeds. I see alot of advertisements on the internet for the seeds. I am in Timberlake NC. Also when buying the trees themselves should I go with the 1-2ft or much greater heigth.

Fred, I would suggest trying to grow some from seed and also purchasing a 1-2 ft tall plant (container grown). You will be surprised at how quickly they grow. Here is a link with lots of details about growing them from seed. Good luck. http://www.soonerplantfarm.com/index.cfm/fus...

remember that seeds are variable....not every tree will look like the tree from which the seeds came
