You Light Up My Life

These super cute mason jar match boxes will definitely light up your life and are perfect for a last minute Valentine's gift.
With Valentine's day around the corner, I thought I'd make something small for the men in my life. I don't know about you, but it's not always easy finding the right valentine's gift for guys. Socks with hearts on are notoriously difficult to find and, to be honest, it's a bit disconcerting sitting next to someone and seeing little hearts peek out from under their trousers. But that's just me. So while I was out shopping for who knows what, I found these adorable mini mason jars. I also saw a post on Craftaholics Anonymous which got me thinking, why not add some matches?
Just drill a hole in the mason jar lid and cut out the ignition strips on the side of the match box.
Stick the ignition strips to the sides of the mason jar and fill her up.
Add a label - I chose "You Light up my Life" but just think of all the possibilities.... "Match made in Heaven"; "Come on baby, light my fire"; "You are the Light of my Life" :-)

What is the hole in the top for?

Why a hole in the lid? Forgive me if I am missing the obvious (a regular occurrence for me).

Hi @Jen Oro and @Caroline Hargrove, the hole in the lid makes it easier to dispense the matches. Turn the jar upside down and shake :-)

Cute idea, but I think you could get a match out quicker by opening the lid than by trying to shake it out of that small hole. @
