How to paint a brass fireplace door and screen ?

Question

I have a fireplace screen that needs a change. It is brass and I want to paint it, but I would need heat resistant paint. Any ideas?

Bonnie if you have a local fireplace showroom they usually sell products got painting or at least can suggest some. Also, check with a big home improvement store like Menards I know for sure they carry fireplaces and the heat resistant paints.

I used the Rustoleum hear resistant spray paint and it worked great.  Takes about three thin coats and done.

Real brass is making a comeback, but the fake lacquered 90s brass is gross! Rustoleum makes high heat paints in spray or brush. Google it and many diy tutorials from bloggers will pop up.

I can suggest doing a faux verdi gris finish. Build up your fav patina colours and distress back. Fun, easy!
