Ideas for replacing a door-wall with a window

Good morning! I am in need of your ideas. I am thinking about having a doorwall removed & a window put in it's place. I have painted paneling in the room. I don't want to put drywall, probably can't find the paneling. Any thoughts?

Since the paneling is painted, the wood stain on paneling does not matter only the spacing of the groves matters. Measure the existing groves and thickness of the paneling and try to match the groves on what you buy

Have a nice 'built in' put in under the window by the window carpenter. It can be shallow or deeper, depending on the space, but be very handsome and practical for any room. Any added storage is king.

I have to agree with Carol I don't see any other way to make it fit. Good Luck. Hopefully you can find in a light color so its easy to paint. Then if you hang curtains it might cover where it doesn't meet exactly.

Faux shiplap would go with your painted paneling. It would act as an accent wall. If you cut sheets of Luan in 8inch wide pieces and nail them to walls it has an awesome rustic look. White is the most common color to paint it but any color would work. It can be placed right on top of existing paneling too!
