Powder Room Redo!

Our powder room was stuck in the 80s! It boasted out of date wall paper, a dusty wicker mirror, and broken metal blinds. It needed a new look quickly! As a former teacher I thought it would be fun to take the tiny room further into the past with a vintage schoolhouse theme.
It took as so long to remove the wallpaper mostly because the glue was so old it was incredibly stuck onto the wall. Even with a steamer we struggled.
But we persevered and eventually we had scrubbed the walls clean!
Why the people before us hung plants in the bathroom is beyond me. They could have at least used matching hooks! Ha!
We added bead board with a thick molding which acts as a chalk holder. We also painted the vanity and added a few other touches too.
We love our chalkboard walls! Our guests are always leaving us little messages and I put math problems on the walls for my girls to practice their facts. It really is a little schoolroom! I hope you'll visit to see the rest of the room and the other changes we made.
