From Dreary to Dreamy - Our Half Bath Overhaul

(This is a summary only. Visit my blog for the complete tutorial for this plus so many more home related tips and ideas. Click the link at the bottom of the post.)
Warts and all. That's how we bought our 1960's house. We loved many things about the house but knew there were also lots of things we wanted to change, most of them cosmetic. After 2 previous bathroom renovations in the house, we finally addressed the worst one...the half bath.
We wanted a fresh look for this bathroom. Everything in here was replaced with new fixtures and a soothing palette.
Here's how it looked when we bought it. Dated wallpaper, a pink mini blind, a green sink, a green toilet with a white seat, and carpet. Mmmm, yes. Carpet in a bathroom. Now you know why we replaced it all.

I used a mirror that I found at a flea market years ago. And I made some DIY artwork for the walls. The tutorial for this is in the full post on my blog.

A simple flush mounted, decorative light fixture lights up the space.

We chose a wood-look tile for the floors. I love the subtle pattern and colors. And it's so much more practical for a bathroom that real wood floors (or carpet!).
It's hard to believe how much different the space looks. Sometimes those ugly ducklings do actually turn into beautiful swans!

What is the color and brand tile that you used on your bathroom floor? I love it, it's not too dark and not too light. Thank you!

Did you have the beautiful baseboard custom milled? It doesn't look like stock base with a base shoe attached to the front. It is stunningly crisp against the Tranquility paint.
