Legs or no legs

I have a Steamer trunk that is the exact same as this one. I want to sell it. Before I do, I would like to put removable legs to raise it another 4 to 5 inches. Should I? The legs would be dark stained wood or painted black. And they would be study round with little decorative style, similar to the ones in the picture. Should I put legs on this trunk?

It depends on if you're going to sell it as an up-cycled piece or an original. People fall into one of two categories...those who like authenticity and those who like things modified. Check out some antique shops in your area and ask what customers are looking for. They may have names of individuals who are looking for trunks like yours.

LEGS - brings it to a whole new level! Makes it a usable piece of furniture. Not so sure about the ball legs though. I envision the skinny ones that slant out. After pics plz.?

What about putting legs on a piece of wood then setting the trunk on top. Gives you the best of both. The trunk with legs but not attached to the truck it self.
