Etching on marble counters and floor

We are the second occupants of our house and there are etching marks over the marble counters, none too big and on the bathroom floor, bigger.
Any recommendations?

Like Barbara C said, can't exactly tell you the correct answer. But if you are saying that your Mable counters are scratched, some may be deep, I was told there is nothing you can do to fix the Marble. The reason I know this is because I, unfortunately have Marble counters in my kitchen. It would be wise if you could post some pictures so we can see exactly what you are talking about and the correct way to a fix.

I too have a slab of marble etched by a leaking tomato. I've heard that a professional would have to polish it out. Lucky for me it's portable, heavy but portable.
