Milk Paint Windsor Chair

I found an old windsor chair at the thrift store which was covered in brown PAINT! I guess someone didn't want to take the time to refinish it. I took it for my shop even though the Colonial style is not very trendy right now. I just couldn't pass up a good chair. So, I sanded it and used three colors of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in layers to try and get a really faded, old look on the chair. I used a wash of Mustard Seed YelloW, then a wash of Tricycle and then finally, to tone it all down, a wash of Typewriter. I finished with several coats of clear wax. I think I ended up with a nice, old looking finish! You can see more pics and read more on the blog
It's a bit squished but here they are side by side.
I wet distressed to reveal the brown
The Typewriter color toned down the reddish shade
Nice vintage looking finish!
