Renovated Modern Kitchen & Dining Room

When I first walked into the sagging, moldy old home with my clients we looked at the peeling wallpaper, severely damaged floor and woodwork, and the drastically sagging ceiling and all they kept saying was, "I just can't picture it looking good". Despite their worry, I could instantly see the potential in this run down home. Just walking through the old wallpapered rooms, I could picture exactly how the house I would transform this space into a home that my clients would love. They were looking for a modern update that still maintained the charm and comfort of the original home. After a lot of work, the Before & Afters are almost unrecognizable as the same room!
The dated, peeling wallpaper and it was the first thing to go. Next we opened the dining room to the adjacent small alcove which ended up becoming a perfect area for a home bar. The crystal chandelier was gorgeous but not the style my clients were looking for. (Don't worry, it was saved and has since been used it another project!)
The coffered ceiling - while architecturally interesting - was sagging and had to come down and get replaced. We pulled out the two windows and added french doors leading to a new deck outside. The walls were painted with Benjamin Moore's Coventry Gray.
When it finally came to furniture and decor and the finishing touches, we were on an extremely tight budget. With a little patience and creative shopping, we managed to buy all the furniture, art, and decor shown in the pictures for only $2,200!
Overall the clients were extremely happy with the space that reflected their modern tastes and comfortable style. One of the greatest compliments I heard about this house from my clients and the construction team working on the project was this - "When I first walked in here, I really didn't think this house would end up looking this good!"

Did you replace the wood floors? Or restore them?

Hi there, this renovation is beautiful! My husband and I are about to remodel our kitchen and we will have the white shaker style cabinetry that is shown here. Can you tell me what the countertops are? I never pictured this color/style before and I like it. If it's reasonable enough, maybe we could do that to ours. Thank you!

Love the white shaker inset cabinets with the stacked uppers. Who is the manufacturer?
