Rather than choosing which colors are popular, choose the colors that appeal to you. Check out Behr and Sherwin Williams and Panetone for color swatches. Work off your furniture colors to help decide what will looks best in your home. You can buy sample size jars of paints to try...have fun looking and planning!

Behr.com has color inspiration charts for you to get ideas.I will suggest f you decide to use this paint choose the Marquee collection. I just used this in my bathrooms and the coverage was excellent. Remember the coors on the computer look slightly different than paint chips.

Choose what makes you happy! I have a room that gets the morning light and I painted it a soft yellow (vanilla cream by Behr). In the morning the room glows and in the evening it looks more cream/beige. My master bath I did in soft pink (rosey cheeks by Behr. My skin has pink under tones so the color was perfect for putting on make up. I rounded out the bath with burgundy towels and black hardware to give the manly look to my girly pink! My next favorite is a custom grey (72 drops of black to 1 gal). Grey is the new neutral. Remember you will be seeing the color everyday, so again I saw go with what makes you HAPPY!

I want to paint an accent wall in my kitchen and I wanted it to be red. I got several paint cards from Walmart in different shades of red. I hung these on the wall I wanted to paint and looked at them every time I passed them. I finally know which shade of red that wall is going to be. Hope this helps some.

There are so many ways to go with room color. For me, personally, there is a nice aqua that goes so well with my color scheme. I like aqua and coral and yellow. Might not sound good, but it's super nice. A nice sunny yellow brings the sunshine to your walls. It's as if you don't notice the color, it provides a happy background. It really depends on the colors you have in your furnishings, your bedding, the floors in your home. Let the pros at your paint store help you. Take in a chair cushion, pillowcase, whatever you can to show the pro what you decorate with.

I moved to a much smaller place this year. I painted almost all the walls a VERY pale gray. It almost looks white. It is extremely airy and fresh and goes with everything and is so calm. It really opened the place up a whole lot. I'm still thinking about an accent-wall color for the bedroom but for now I can really appreciate the mood of this soft neutral.
