    Alcohol works well. Another idea is straight liquid dish soap. Just leave a drop or two for a few minutes and then rub the adhesive away.You can add some water if necessary. I had read about this hint and it always works. It might be the answer to

    WD-40, great glue remover. Spray on. Wait a few minutes for it to work. Wipe off.
