DIY Twine Eggs

We have a bazillion plastic Easter eggs, but we always tend to buy new ones each year. So instead of throwing the old ones out, I decided to reuse them to decorate our home for spring. With a little bit of twine and a lot of glue, I made some pretty twine eggs that look a whole lot better than before!
You can use any color you want, but I'm crushing on aqua lately, so I bought some aqua blue twine and some patterned burlap ribbon. I slathered the plastic eggs with glue, and then, I began adding the twine.
I had the kids help, since they love working with glue. We just kept winding the twine around and around the egg, adding more glue as we went along. The key is to keep the twine pushed tightly together and minimize any spaces.
After the eggs were covered in twine, I added some patterned burlap ribbon, just for a little contrast and color. I have my grandmother's old set of Desert Rose dishes, and I used a bowl as a sort of nest for the eggs.
