Here is how to clean a red wine stain. Mix equal parts of Dawn Dishwashing Liquid and Hydrogen Peroxide.

Pour on the stain, add some elbow grease and Wal-la, batta bing the stain is gone. Try to get to the stain as soon as possible.

Another way if the wine spill just happened, is to pour, I really mean pour, table salt on the entire spill and let it sit for a few hours. It needs to sit longer if it is a large spill. Simply vacuum up the salt and the stain is gone. I also use this on soda and coffee spills. My college son called the other day saying that he had amazed his friends with this little trick--sure hope it wasn't wine he was soaking up!!

Vinegar and dish soap work, too, if you don't have hydrogen peroxide handy.

The nice thing about the salt is that it absorbs the liquid, removes the stain, and there is no scrubbing. The carpet fibers don't loosen and nothing goes down to the carpet pad only to rear its head later. The trick is to catch the spill right away and make sure your guests or family don't walk on the wet salt pile.

This also works on underarm perspiration stains on whites....(one part dawn and two parts hydrogen peroxide).

There is also a product called FOLEX that is awesome at getting stains out. Spilled some spaghetti sauce on my tan rug. After using this product you would never know there was a mess there a few minutes earlier.

I hate to even suggest wasting wine but... another sure fire method is to pour white wine over the red and blot gently, do not rub. The white will neutralize the red. If there is still a stain then move to the salt to finish.

Shout, Tide stain remover, and Tide boost will do the trick too...minus the elbow grease.

Or just get a bigger glass so it's not so easy to spill /-; like the mason jars.

AA, I have heard that nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol can get ballpoint ink out of clothes, but I haven't tried it myself. You might repost the question as a new topic and you'll probably get some other advice.

The trick to ink is... Hairspray! Spray on liberally an rub with toothbrush or nailbrush then rinse in warm water and launder as normal.

Actually the ingredient in hairspray that makes it work is alcohol. Use plenty of rubbing alcohol on the ink. It dissolves the ink. Since it is a blouse, put a blotting towel under the blouse part you are cleaning & rub in the alcohol. Be patient, it may take a little while if it's a big dry ink stain.
