Terri..do you have bugs and mosquitoes there at night, mosquitoes even in the day?

Have you been out there and using it? I still love the chandelier..and the tree faces...clever and fun!

Love what you've done! We had a dieing pine tree that we cut the brush off and left the branches to make a bird house tree. It eventually fell over. We were in the process of pouring garage floor, so my husband put a piece of metal culvert around it and poured concrete to hold it up. Our friends said we had to be the only people they knew who wouldn't let a tree die! lol I see we aren't the only people - thanks for sharing!

All of us here in NC could try the award winning version but have to be careful of being hit with more flying pine trees. Be careful out there!

I love this....just joined master gardeners which has been so helpful since I am new to NC. Hopefully someday I will have a outdoor space such as yours...but will need the help of a good decorator! Outstanding Job..

Oh my - I wish I had seen this or thought of it before we had our huge 300 year old tree cut up and hauled off (after coming down after a storm). I will remember this!

They are tearing down this huge building in town and there is tons of broken up concrete. I wonder it there is anything creative I can do with it?

the concrete pieces are not shown. They were used to line the paths......then I used concrete stain in several colors to make them look like stone. the beauty of that project was it did not have to be perfect! Amazingly .....you have to look closely to see that they are not rocks.

It looks like a nice place to throw a wedding party. Especially the last picture. I imagine a beautiful young couple saying their wedding bows and exchanging their wedding rings under nature's embrace. Very inspiring...

Always love re-using tree limbs, old bird nests, anything that I think will go with a look that I want to create! It is truly amazing how this kind of little outdoor space will relax and allow you to unite with nature, animal life, and just spend many happy hours in it.

Love what you did with your outdoor space! lovely!

We used a plum tree that had blown down at one of our rentals to hang our bird feeders and hanging flower baskets. We dug a hole and encased tree trunk in concrete and it lasted several years. Looked much better than metal hangers.

Beautiful! How did you secure the branches in the ground? Did you just bury them a certain depth? Thanks!

I love it. I was thinking the same thing about the mosquitos that Bernice C asked. But it gave me an idea to build on. Maybe as you are building, you could also add some type of netting. It could be an outside haven away from the gnats and mosquitos. This year especially the gnats. I've never seen them this bad in my own yard. And we've been in the same house 17 years.
