So last fall I decided to conduct a little experiment and I painted the vinyl seat on an old doctor's stool with chalk paint. I've used the stool quite a bit and so far it is holding up great.

I haven't used chalk paint on vinyl furniture, but I used latex outdoor house paint in dvinyl dinette chairs 35 years ago and the chair I have left still looks good.(the others broke). I also used latex paint to shange the color on the side bolsters (vinyl) in our boat 15 yrs. ago and it is still going strong.

@Janet Allen Wow! 35 years is a quite amazing life span for painted vinyl. I can't get outside house paint to last that long on my house!
