Tired of looking at your gross kitchen trash can day after day? Hide it in a cabinet! Store bought pull-out systems are soooo expensive, so I made my own for a fraction of the cost.

I understand everything except the numbers. Is this in inches, centimeters, or something else? I know mine will vary from yours, but my measurements will be similar.

I have several cabinets that slide out, and they hold everything from recipe books, to pots and pans, and even whatever book I'm reading at the time, so if I get a free moment (yeah, right) I can take a load off, open my book and disappear for a few minutes. This is such a wonderful idea, my husband is going to create one for a friend as a gift. Thanks for sharing the idea. I have to say, though, I'm lucky enough to have a trash compactor, and it is quiet and looks just like any other cabinet. (We have wainscotting on our cabinets.) The best thing is that now they make compactors that are easy to keep clean, and relatively inexpensive. The clean part is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing to me, so mine stays fresh. But even though we recently became empty nesters, and there is only my hubby and me, I empty it several times a week. The key is not putting ANY food in it, all the scraps and crumbs go down the disposal. Again, great idea, and the hubby says thanks for the how to!!
