I am helping my daughter do her cabinets...both of us are DIY beginners - under the kitchen it is white MDF that has gotten wet --- any way to fix....? Also in the laundry room where the previous owners let the laundry soap drip, drip and drip.

There's really no way to "fix" MDF once it's gotten wet and damaged. You should try to replace it with something else if possible....However if it's not too damaged and hasn't "buckled" or gotten too soggy, you could get some self-stick floor tiles and place them over the damaged section of the kitchen cabinet. For the other laundry room fixes...I guess that depends on where the damage is as to how you might fix it.

Remove all loose particles then cover with peel-n-stick tile.......inexpensive and quick!
