Shelf Makeover
When I visited my aunt at Christmas she let me explore her attic for any treasures that I'd like to take home. I found a shelf that my grandfather made for grandmother to use in their guest bathroom, most likely built in the 1960's. It was dirty and had chipping paint but I knew with some TLC I could give it a makeover.
I sanded the shelf (a lot!) and then gave it multiple coats of paint. A stenciled design on each side of the shelf adds pizzazz. This paint is metallic.
Here's the shelf in its before state. I'm a teacher and was able to work on this on a snow day off from school. I was sanding outside as the snow fell!
