How do you drills wholes without Jpeg (I think that what it called)? I need to put a couple of screws through the base.

To help you I would need a picture of the bench. What are the screws for? Are they to tighten it up a loose piece or add something to it?

I can get a picture get a picture tonight. Yes it is to tighten it up to make sure grandkids can sit on it, without worry

A Kreg jig is the tool that helps you drill a slanted hole to join two pieces of wood. You might be able to rent one at a rent it center or a local hardware. If not, maybe your hardware store can fix it for you. Or refer you to a handyman.

  Another suggestion would be to attach a block of wood where the legs meet the seat frame (front to back on each side). Mark where you need to pre-drill holes for screws to attach it to the legs. Then mark where you will pre-drill holes to attach it to the seat frame. This will give you more surface to brace the legs and support the seat. Paint it the same color as the rest of the bench and it will blend right in. No angled holes needed, you can do your drilling right on the workbench (or whatever surface you use as a workbench)

I have an old stool that was loose in the joints that my husband was using as a step stool in the bathroom for our 2 year old to wash her hands. I had a bottle of Wonderlock'em Tite Chairs that I had never used and was skeptical about. That stuff is amazing! Be careful with it if you use it though because it is very runny and you won't get it off of what ever it lands on (like the arm of my couch). That stool doesn't wiggle a bit now and I don't worry about her standing on it!
