A Place of Honor for Mom's Baking Board

When my mom passed away, my dad gave me her huge baking board. I was so very pleased to have it.
I wanted to give it a place of honor in my home. She was the last to use it and I wanted it to stay that way, so I gave it a thin coat of poly and hung it over my fireplace. The winter scene print is hanging from a removable GM hook so as not to damage the board. For a while, the board hung by itself and my guests would say it looked like a sunset. It was just the worn areas of the board that gave it that appearance. This is one of my most prized possessions. Recently I shared my mom's banded mixing bowl with my brother. I gave it to him for Christmas. He was overwhelmed and so grateful to have it. Family treasures are the best gifts.
