Zoysia Plugs by Mail

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade...but it mystifies me why anyone would buy zoysia plugs by mail. The ad I see in newspapers and magazines clearly says the grass is Meyers zoysia, which anyone can buy at local garden centers or sod distributors. Chop the purchased sod into three inch plugs and you have something that is MUCH more likely to establish and grow into a new lawn.

But don't expect miracles. Zoysia is very slow to spread. You need to plant plugs 6" apart to have any hope of covering an area by year's end.

These photos just seem so "foriegn" to me ...the winter shot does not really look like winter....this is winter to me.

BTW the blue round cover in the center of the pic is for our 500 gallon propane tank...which is almost 4 feet high....in the summer.

If you look at those ads on line you will also find complaints a mile long.

Thanks Walter...but I guessing that snow of yours lasted for 48 hours tops...that pic of mine was from yesterday...and that drift will be there until sometime in late April
