My entry for this month | No specialty designer furniture products are needed, you can easily refurbish an old desk with readily found products from your local craft store.
The Before shot | Here is a piece I found for a song on Craigslist intended for my sons bedroom
No matter what you always need to prep a piece before painting to get rid of dings scratched and rough up that old finish.
This piece was created from DecoArt products easily found at any craft store, base coat in DecoArt Chalky Finish in Relic.
Here I cut down some nails for the faux metal trim details to look like metal studs. and added to the edges.
The faux metal finish was created from mixing up metal paints, simple black acrylic and glaze medium from Michaels. applied with a foam brush in many coats.
Add a topcoat easily with from a water based polycrylic spray can for extra durability on tabletops.
Here is the finished piece all staged ala vintage. This junker turned fab for an Industrial look!
