DIY Nautical Rope Mirror

I love the texture and rustic nature of rope. Here is a plain mirror I picked up at a thrift store that I transformed into a nautical rope mirror. Check out my blog for the full post and tutorial.

I'm so glad you replied, I really did worry about my question being perceived as criticism which it totally wasn't. I thought there was a legit reason for not using one strand, like kinks or the rope would reach up and bite you or something LOL! Thanks I have just one more question. What do you think would happen if I tried this on a rectangular mirror? OK, OK I admit, I'm chicken. I do have a mirror that this made me go Hmmm, wonder if this is a solution... I might try it, I have all the "ingredients". Stay tuned, coming to a theatre near you!

I'm actually really happy that you asked because that is a great tip and I need to go into my post and mention this, so thank you! I feel like I watched some video where they cut the rope every time, but it doesn't look like I put the link in my post so I need to find that as well. However, after using one continuous piece on the candle holders {and lamp shade} I realized that it was definitely much easier that way. This mirror was my first rope project and one thing I will say is that rope is very forgiving and fun to work with. I am now a rope-a-holic, haha. I am planning on roping some planters and frames in the future, as well as incorporating it into some signs. Keep me posted on your mirror, I think you will love working with the rope!
