How to fix a Porcelain Doll's Hair

Does anyone have any advice on how to unfrizz a porcelain doll's hair?I am not sure if the doll's hair is human or mohair or something synthetic.I would try a curling iron but I am afraid that the hair might melt if it is not real.I am thinking that the hair would not be real.I don't have the doll yet and only if I can figure out how to fix her messed up hair would I purchase her. Thanks so much!L:)

Look up doll hospitals to see if you have one nearby or can email one. Good luck. Frizzled hair sounds maybe synthetic. No curling iron.

The women in my life have collector Blyth dolls....they soak the hair in warm water then comb and style it. some of hair is synthetic others have expensive mohair wool they use a wet brush on the wool instead of the soak. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151489088356294&set=pb.154237526293.-2207520000.1368203057.&type=3&theater

I wash the hair with purex naturals laundry soap then saturate the hair with conditioner that I like the smell of. Let it sit for a bit then with a comb I slowly start at the bottom of the hair and comb out the tangles. I do it in small sections at a time. when its all combed out I rinse the hair out and pat dry out the water. Then let the doll sit until the hair is dry. You can style the hair after that.

While the hair is still damp you can curl the dolls hair on perm rods with perm papers on the ends until the hair is dry.

Thanks for the info! I didn't realize that they made perm rods for dolls until I saw them for sale on ebay yesterday. It didn't dawn on me to do that. Now I know and now I have the doll to experiment on. I will post before & after pics when I am all done. This should be fun!LOL:)
